Transporting Artwork

So I'll be coming in from Chicago for a summer program and want to know how anyone else from out of state deals with sending work out at the end of the term. Is there a FedEx nearby, do you bubble wrap, drive, throw it all away?
Likewise for all your unused materials- canvas, paints, stapleguns. Are you given storage space to hold this for the inactive terms?

I do know we were asked to clear out our lockers so they can clean the place, but I'm sure you can find storage space after that. Just grab a locker near your workspace when you start. Make sure to buy a lock.

I'm SuMFA, what about my gear over Fall/Spring? Can I store it? I don't know whether to ship out my paints or just get new stuff to keep out there.

I'm not exactly sure how they do this in the painting department. DC Spensley might know, he's on this tribe too.

Not a clue how the painting department handles lockers and all that except that they cut locks and chuck anything after May 18, however perhaps you might call student services and ask them what they think. Maybe you can ship your supplies to the SFAI mailroom and store them under the auspices of the school...

            Can't hurt to ask.

            Peace,

            DC

Thanks for the tip. I'd need to store from Aug 16-June 1 '05 so I doubt they's have dead space for all that time for my materials to gather dust (or get stolen!)
